Yarn joining solutions

During the various production steps, where a yarn is processed (winding, assembling, twisting, reeling, warping, knitting, etc.), each time they break or when a tail-to-top connection between two bobbins is required, yarns need to be joined to allow the production machines to have a continuous process without stops.

In the past those connections were produced with knots performed by the operators’ hands, then mechanical devices were developed to automatically produce consistent and repeatable knots; finally, the splicing technology, mainly using accurately controlled air blasts for both the end preparation and the fiber intermingling, was developed, and was soon integrated in the textile industry, particularly in winding.
